The Event
This event is open to everyone looking to help support the fight against childhood cancer. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Bring your family and friends and do something to help cure pediatric cancer. For Eastern Alumni: Come on out, relive your glory days of Eastern while reconnecting with old friends and raising money for pediatric cancer research. Make it a mini-reunion with your family and friends in the area. Feel free to come dressed as you did in high school to celebrate the years you were there. Bell bottoms, letterman jackets and teased hair are welcome. Take a victory lap around the track. Date: Sunday, September 16, 2012 Time: 9:00 AM Place: Eastern High School 1401 Laurel Oak Road Voorhees, NJ 08043 Who: Everyone. All Eastern High School Alumni, parents, current students, teachers and staff plus anyone looking to run or walk a fast, safe course. Registration Fees Pre-registration by September 14, 2012: Adults: $20 / Children under 12 (Must register with an adult): $10 Race Day Registration: Adults: $25 / Children under 12 (Must register with an adult): $15 Race T-shirts only guaranteed for participants registered by 9/1/12. The age groups will be as follows (for both Men and Women): 1 – 9 10 – 14 15 – 19 20 – 29 30 – 39 40 – 49 50 + About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation In 2000, cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott announced she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 research projects nationally.
